There are two most fundamental truths that are seriously overlooked by most of the entrepreneur fraternity.

Ironically, 95% MSMEs keep taking sales and sales teams for granted. Here’s the typical story of most entrepreneurs:

You people get so obsessed with your product, your offices and factories and your routine activities. And you fail to realize the supreme importance of building a high performance sales department.

Soon, there comes a stage when sales numbers stop growing beyond a certain point.

You push it hard & try everything you possibly can: attractive incentives, motivational seminars, digital marketing etc. But, nothing seems to work and sales numbers do not grow as expected.

Even, experienced sales teams often fail to achieve significant performance!

When you poke your sales or B.D. guys, they start blaming slow economy, poor demand, industry problems, competition, customers and what not?

Slowly and gradually you and your top sales leaders too start buying these excuses and start compromising on your aggressive growth plans.

Do you know, there are 79 lakh MSMEs in India. But only 63000 of them have been able to cross ₹10Cr turnover. That too in spite of being in the business for 5 – 20 years!

And only 8500 of them have been able to achieve turnover above ₹100 Cr. 

This means, if you’re an entrepreneur or business owner, then there are 99% chances that you too are stuck in slow business and  are not able to grow revenues beyond a certain level.. Am I right?

And you are stuck there, in spite of all your knowledge, experience and hard work. 

Inability to sell or sell enough is one of the core reasons behind this situation.

1) Your sales team’s performance is highly inconsistent or poor

2) You have to consistently keep running after sales teams with no significant positive effect on numbers.

3) Sales teams are not self-motivated and constantly need your consultation & support for closing deals.

4) You are so busy that you hardly have time for yourself and your family.

5) The major part of the revenue is always in that endless pipeline that never seems to convert!

6) Sometimes you struggle to pay the salaries or cannot pay it on time.

7) You are not able to attract good quality talent and even if you get some of them, they don’t stay with you longer.

And as a result, you are often under stress and anxiety. Sometimes, you see your competitors starting much after you did; But they grow quickly leaving you far behind..

You could be fairly successful today, But somewhere deep within your heart you too know that you deserve a lot more than this!

So you keep working harder and longer. However, despite of all of your endeavours, you are somehow able to just manage the show. But you are still stuck in the bottom 99% league! 

You pretend to keep smiling and try looking satisfied. But you’re actually NOT!

Sometimes these feelings manifest in the form of  frustration and anger. At times you tend to throw tantrums on the employees and your own family members too.
